Why People Want To Study Tao Shiatsu

Lecture 10:

So, my recent concern, my great concern and curiosity lately, is why people need Tao Shiatsu, or want to study Tao Shiatsu these days, in this age. I felt that people have lost their nature, the nature of their self and the balance of their body. They’re missing why they’re born, the things that are not personal, not individual. You’re born, you want to be happy, you want to be healthy, or you want to do something. It’s the universe, right? It’s the core of yourself, but you are missing it when you are growing. Perhaps you eat some bad food, not natural food, many things interrupt your balance and you are missing yourself, right? So I think people feel fear about what they’re missing. You feel far behind what you want to be. So I think it’s the voice of yourself, the voice of your core, it’s your centre voice that wants Tao Shiatsu.

However Tao Shiatsu is not Tao Shiatsu, it’s not technical right? It is meet with nature, it’s meet with the Universe, it’s unification with nature, unify with the Universe, to get yourself more balanced. But not through your ego, if you feel yourself, it’s not unified through your nature right. When you unify with nature you forget yourself. It’s together, ‘togetherness. I like this word ‘togetherness’ (lots of giggles). Nature with universe and togetherness, right?

So I always feel that Tao Shiatsu treatment is not good for everybody, it’s not effective for everybody, you feel it right? The receiver wants to feel more balanced; the receiver is appreciating their life, to be born, to become more balanced. But remember to get this balance means you also get pain, you receive pain. It’s pain because this is the missing part of yourself, it’s a realization. This is your “lost self pain.” So if people don’t want pain, maybe it’s better to receive another kind of Shiatsu. But to receive Tao Shiatsu, you feel sorry for yourself because you are missing your very essence, your heart, and want to get better. This is my great concern, that people are missing something.

We speak of reaching the “bottom” in treatment, when we study. The bottom is not something physical, not just the bottom of the receiver’s tsubo, it’s the bottom of your nature, and it’s related to nature and the universe. So when you give treatment, feel more this life energy. So we have a great responsibility: to assist people to get better, to be reminded of their balance. This is my great concern and so I’m working on this as best I can.

The patient is your mirror. Everybody is your mirror. I appreciate Maria, I appreciate Sara, I appreciate Brid (students in the class), and I appreciate everybody. This is telling me that I don’t know my life without others, I only know through you, ok? Through you I notice myself, right? Everybody’s the same. So depending on your partner you see a different you. Think about it when the feeling comes ‘I don’t like this person, I don’t want to work with them,’ because this is part of your shadow. Everyone the same, same, same…. Through your partner you feel your ego, right? Each moment, each moment, clearly, strictly.

Any comments?

Oki-san said that after we practised the Super Vessels, he felt more how the body is changing and energised, something like this kind of feeling. He’s sure that during this age we need to work with the Super Vessels, so the purpose of the Super Vessels he feels sure of. Heidi spoke of many people at home in Ireland looking for something more, and not wanting to accept how things are, wanting to look outside and change things. They don’t try to see their inside; they try to fix their outside. So they’re not happy.

Let’s practice!

SST practice Tao Heart aspect: Giving Heart

You take the point and it responds, but when you bring your hand toward it your ego interprets, you try to find already it is missing. Be careful. When you take the point, just bring you finger to the point the receiver wants most to be pressed. Keep imagining only this and then feel the tsubo. It’s simple right? Your body and heart have to be unified at this moment and you have to be unified with the receiver. The angle comes naturally. Everything synchronised, giving heart, only giving heart, ok.

Student question: Does the kyo direction follow the spiral or the thin super vessel?

You don’t have to think about the kyo direction. If you just simply follow right, feel this unification and the tsubo tells you. You don’t have to think ‘Is it this way or this way’ or make an angle. This is only just giving heart. Just simply giving heart, then I think it’s deeper, it’s better. You don’t have to make an angle.

SST practice

Tao Heart aspect: Giving Heart

First unify and take one tsubo with empathic imagination. If the receiver feels it respond then take the tsubo with the thumb. Without thinking, because this is with your subconscious, it belongs to your heart. Feel the tsubo all the way down with giving heart. ‘Pushing but not pushing’ ? push with giving heart, asking how the receiver feels with giving heart. It’s very, very deep. How deep? Not your ability, only just all of your universal giving heart, just reaches the bottom. Ask your partner. Try to reach the bottom of this tsubo to let your partner realize this unknown part, take your partner to the unknown world, unknown bottom. With this they can get better. This is the basic nature of healing through the life energy, the life force, right? Getting balanced, getting better through the Menken response. Through the meeting, through the sub-conscious, not the conscious level.* It’s a different quality, right? You have to know the limit of your ability, the limit of your thinking that it’s not working through the ego.
